Dr Mohammed Lawal Akanbi is an Associate Professor in Department of Library and Information Science, Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences, University of Ilorin. He obtained National Certificate in Education (1986) from College of Education Oro and Bachelor in Library and Information Science (1996), Master in Library and information Science (2005) from the Bayero University, Kano respectively, Certificate in Computer Science (COMSIT), University of Ilorin (2005) and PhD in Library and Information Science from International Islamic University, Malaysia (2014). He started his teaching career at Karuma Primary School, Ilorin (1987-1989) and proceeded to Army Day Secondary School Ilorin, (1989-1998) where he rose through ranks and files to the position of Principal Education Officer (PEO). He joined the University of Ilorin Library as a Cataloguer and Head of Serials Department respectively (1998-2008). He is chartered with the Librarians Registration Council of Nigeria (2005). He proceeded to teach in the Department of Library and Information Science, University of Ilorin from 2008 till date. Research interest is Management and Administration of Library and Innovative Technology in librarianship and other ICTs related. He has supervised more than Sixty (60) undergraduate projects, Eighteen (18) Master dissertations, two (2) Ph.D. theses and Two (2) On-going Ph.D. theses supervision
